 Two-Man Match-Play

Bruce Main & Bert Levesque
This two man match play event was started in 2008 to honour two lifetime members of the club. 

Bruce Main has been a member at Langara since 1964 and a fixture on the executive since 1975.  During  that time he has served as Club Captain from 1975 to 1978, Vice President 1979, President from 1980 to 1984,  1997 to 2000 and finally again in 2003.  Since that time, he has served on the executive as Past President and Director.  If this isn’t enough Bruce has been very active in Zone 4 administration since his retirement looking after Junior events and currently Senior events for the Zone. 

Bert Levesque has also been very involved in the Men’s Club executive since joining the Club in 1974.  Bert served as Handicap Chair from 1985 to 1997 with many of these years pre computer handicap system.  Bert would collect written cards for some 200 plus members and by hand calculate their official handicaps which he would post at the club.  Bert also served as Secretary-Treasurer from 1998 to 2010. Both of these gentlemen were made Lifetime members in 2010.

  • 2 Man Teams
  • Match-play format
  • Played to players’ handicaps.
Event Rules 
  • Putts and holes may be conceded, but players must putt-out to qualify for any other events concurrently played, and for handicapping purposes. 
Reminders
  • Enter the results of the matches on the appropriate sheets in the scoring book.
