Ted Johnston Trophy

Ted Johnston
Edward Melville Johnston lived from July 19, 1929 to November 5, 2007 and a significant part of his life was spent golfing at Langara.  Ted was a long time Secretary-Treasurer during the 1970’s and 80’s.  The Ted Johnston Trophy is presented each year to the player with the best net stroke average based on their best ten scores for the year.  The event was started in 2001.  During Ted’s playing days he won a Vancouver event and was presented with a Silver tray and tea set.  In 2004 Ted donated this silverware to the club and the Ted Johnston trophy is now the Silver Tray that Ted won.
